About the role
The Prince William County Department of Parks and Recreation's Adapted Programming is seeking an Aquatic Inclusion Aide to assist children with disabilities in swim lessons. The position involves working 1:1 with a child in an indoor swimming pool setting.
Responsibilities
- Work 1:1 with a child with a disability in an established swim lesson class under the supervision of Adapted Swim Instructors.
- Carry out program plans, activities, and lessons.
- Set up and clean up equipment or materials needed for a class.
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and providing information to the public.
- Maintain and prepare equipment and facility, and maintain related records.
- Enforce program and facility rules; provide emergency care and treatment as required.
- Perform other duties of a similar nature or level.
Requirements
- 8th grade education or higher
- 16 years or older
- 6 months of experience working with individuals with special needs
- Experience with swim lessons is a plus
Qualifications
- Minimum starting pay: $16.60/hour
- Must be at least 16 years old
- May require Federal or State background check

Schedule
- Available days: Monday through Sunday
- Available timeframes: 9 A.M. - 12 P.M., 12 P.M. - 3 P.M., 9 A.M. - 5 P.M., and Evening and Weekends
