Job Description
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Aquatics Director intentionally fosters a cause-centered culture that is welcoming, genuine, hopeful, nurturing, and determined while also managing high-quality, member-focused aquatics programs.
Qualifications
- Minimum age of 18.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- One to two years of related experience is preferred.
- YMCA Team Leader certification preferred.
Essential Functions
- Plans and coordinates purchase and repair of facilities and equipment as needed.
- Applies YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to best practices, emergency procedures, medical and disciplinary situation and child abuse prevention.
- Ensures AED's, first aid kits, CPR equipment etc. are inspected regularly and updated.
- Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.

Required Certifications
- Immediately upon hire: Lifeguarding certification (ARC); American Red Cross First Aid & CPR for Professional Rescuer; AED; 02; and concussion training which meets state standards.
- Within 30 days of hire, completion of required Redwoods and Praesidium trainings related to Child Abuse Prevention and Bloodborne Pathogens.
- Within 6 months of hire: Aquatics Facility/ Pool Operator certification; LGI.
