Job Summary

Performs skilled herbicide application work at numerous aquatic and terrestrial sites throughout the City of Orlando. The employee in this position is responsible for following the supervisor's instructions in applying herbicides. Herbicides are applied to control unwanted vegetation without damaging desired vegetation and private property.

Responsibilities

  • Follows supervisor's instructions in applying herbicides.
  • Controls unwanted vegetation without damaging desired vegetation and private property.
  • Performs normal and some specialized maintenance in work areas.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED
  • One (1) year of experience in right-of-way and aquatic herbicide application
  • An equivalent combination of related training and experience
  • Valid Florida Driver's License
  • Valid Florida Restricted Pesticide License in the aquatic and right-of-way categories
  • CPR and First Aid certification

Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree
  • Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree
  • Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree
  • Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
