Responsibilities
- Aid in training staff prior to the facility's opening.
- Conduct and participate in training programs, staff meetings, and evaluations throughout the season.
- Act as the primary point of contact for customer service during on-duty hours.
- Manage staff schedules to cover swim team, public swim, swim lessons, and private reservations.
- Maintain required records concerning maintenance, pool chemistry, daily logs, incident reports, etc.
- Oversee and inspect all areas of the pool for sanitation and safe equipment.
- Report any problems or incidents to management.
- Check and maintain appropriate water chemistry levels as set forth by the City of Oxford, Butler County, and State of Ohio standards.
- Respond to bodily fluid incidents affecting water chemistry.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age and/or have a high school diploma or GED.
- Preferred college degree and/or at least 2-3 years experience in related field.
- Pass a comprehensive background check, physical and drug screening.
- Proficient in computer skills - Microsoft Office, Canva, and Social Media.
- Must obtain or be willing to obtain the following certifications prior to beginning work with the City of Oxford: Lifeguard Certification, Certified Pool Operator, Lifeguard Instructor Certification (preferred), Water Safety Instructor Certification (preferred).
- Must possess the ability to obtain and maintain lifeguard certification from an accredited agency (i.e. American Red Cross, YMCA, StarGuard, etc.).
- Must be able to work in a team environment and collaborate well with other employees and across other divisions of the department.
- Must be available to work a varied schedule including mornings, daytime hours, evenings and weekends.
