Aqua Fitness Instructor
Job Overview
To provide class instruction and assistance, to ensure safety regulations, and to provide service enhancements.
The Work You’ll Do
- Leads water-based exercise classes, guiding participants through various fitness activities in a pool environment.
- Creates and implements safe and effective exercise routines, manages equipment, and ensures a positive and motivating class experience while complying with established formats and standards.
- Makes sure each individual is exercising correctly by circulating around the class to monitor and assist.
- Maintains the safety of all participants in class by reminding members and guests of safety principles for the type of class and exercise.
- Maintains the operational safety of equipment and reports any inoperable or defective equipment, such as stereo, speakers, and STEPS.
- Motivates members to continue a healthy program.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of one national athletic certification, such as IDEA, ACE, NETA, or AEAMinimum of six months experience teaching fitness classes preferred
- Basic knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology
- C.P.R. and First Aid Certifications or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment
