Summary of Job Duties

The Advanced Practice Partner (APP) will assist the physician with clinic, organize visits, and perform clinic procedures; assist in the operating room; answer pages; and round on post-operative patients on a daily and PRN basis. The APP will augment a physician's ability to provide medical services to patients; collect and document data, conduct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, order and schedule laboratory studies and professional consultations, and provide direct patient care services.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in nursing (Acute Care Certification) / PA studies
  • Licensed Registered Nurse; APRN/PA license
  • Prescriptive authority and a DEA license must be obtained after hire
  • BLS
  • 2 years of experience preferred

Job Requirements

  • Maintains required audits for credentialing
  • Engages in appropriate continuing education programs, maintain mandatory competencies, medical center computer based learning modules, and health monitoring services
  • Participates in institutional initiatives and encourages the participation of others
  • Collaborates in policy and program development, implementation, and evaluation using best practices in delivering quality service
  • Coordinates the multidisciplinary care of patients, facilitating all necessary consults, assuring that care is timely and appropriate
  • Actively engage in service line meetings and take an approach to health care that shapes policies, programs, facility design, and day-to-day interactions
  • Works autonomously, as well as, in collaboration with a variety of disciplines to diagnose and manage health care problems; will serve as a health care resource, interdisciplinary consultant, and patient advocate
  • Communicates and shares complete and unbiased information, assuring their colleagues receive timely, complete, and accurate information in order make informed decisions
  • Perform other duties as needed
