Position Summary

Aids physicians in patient care and education. Manages patient care, triage, and documentation.

Key Performance Areas

  • Assesses physical and psychosocial status of patients
  • Writes prescriptions for medications, blood products, and other treatments
  • Determines eligibility for clinical trials
  • Interprets and evaluates test results
  • Communicates patient care updates to physicians
  • Manages family dynamics and coping mechanisms
  • Participates in multi-disciplinary rounds
  • Triage patients based on urgency
  • Documents and reports care accurately and promptly
  • Provides on-call coverage and performs hospital rounds
  • Trains new employees

Position Qualifications/Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant program
  • Master’s degree required
  • APRN or PA license in appropriate state
  • Prescriptive privileges or eligibility to apply
  • Current certification from ANCC or ONS (AOCN-P)
  • Current BLS
  • Minimum 5 years experience as APRN or PA, specifically in Oncology

$80,000.00 - $170,000.00
