APRN Inpatient/PA, Pre-Anesthesia Testing, Jackson Main, Per Diem, Days

Responsibilities

• Uses clinical judgments in conducting health assessments, making differential diagnoses, and prescribing pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments.
• Plans and implements care through independent action, health counseling, and collaboration with other members of the health team.
• Provides written home-going instructions.
• Makes referrals for follow-up to appropriate community resources.
• Collaborates with other specialties to ensure interdisciplinary management and continuity of care for both inpatients and outpatients.
• Prescribes or recommends medications or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy, or related therapeutic procedures.
• Initiates search of nursing literature, suggests changes/improvements in patient care standards, and integrates current knowledge of professional issues, trends in health care, and technological advances into scope of practice.
• Maintains detailed and accurate medical records.
• Collaborates with Physician and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plans as necessary.
• Performs physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions of Physician.
• Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' clinical problems and health care needs.
• Coordinates tracking board and first cases.
• Addresses IR escalations, expediting and prioritizing escalations to help shorten Length of Stay (LOS).
• Onboards Fellows, orient residents, leads staff huddle, and reviews case delays.
• Leads the unit/hospital as the main resource for information and support.
• Psychiatric nurse practitioners can capacitate psychiatric patients and provide professional opinions on the "2 Physician certification" form (B-32).
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing is required.
• Valid Florida Advanced Practice RN license required.
• Valid APRN Board certification in specialty area required.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and any additional applicable life support certification for Healthcare Providers is required upon hire with at least 6 months validity and maintenance at JHS for the duration of employment.
