Approvals Chemist

Primary Duties / Responsibilities

• Tracks individual profiles to ensure approvals are completed in a timely manner.
• Sets pricing codes for waste streams.
• Assigns parameters for laboratory testing of individual samples to verify material.
• Provides constructive input on policies, regulations, and other changes to expedite the approval process.
• Completes approvals on various materials.
• Affords technical training to the facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or related discipline
• 5 to 6 years in the hazardous waste industry or related work experience
• 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience preferred

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

• Computer proficiency with Microsoft Suite
• Strong team player
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong time management: ability to organize and manage multiple deadlines
• Strong customer orientation

Required Certification / Licenses / Training

• OSHA HAZWOPER Certification
