About the Role

The Youth Ski Coach Assistant supports a senior coach by analyzing performance and instructing youth in techniques and strategies to prepare them for skiing competition. This position is based at Snow Summit in Big Bear Lake.

Responsibilities

• Analyze youth athletes’ skiing performance.
• Instruct and coach youth in skiing techniques and competition strategies.
• Assist the senior coach with daily training plans and on‑mountain instruction.
• Maintain a calm and collective demeanor, especially during challenging operations.

Requirements

• Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age.
• Current USSA membership and advanced‑level skiing skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Ability to read, write, understand, and comply with safety rules and procedure manuals.
• Flexibility to work varied schedules, including weekends and holidays.
• Successful completion of a background investigation and ability to perform essential job functions, with or without accommodation.

Pay

Starting wage between $19.00/hr – $20.88/hr, depending on experience.
