About the role
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Apprentice Plumber to join our commercial mechanical construction team. This role provides hands-on training and career development under the supervision of experienced Journeyman and Master Plumbers on large-scale commercial projects, including schools, hospitals, office buildings, and industrial facilities.
Responsibilities
- Aid in the installation of plumbing systems, including domestic water, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, natural gas, and vent piping.
- Learn to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction drawings.
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install piping and plumbing components according to project requirements.
- Assist with underground rough-in, above-ground rough-in, fixture installation, and final trim-out activities.
- Safely operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and plumbing equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and job site requirements.
- Attend apprenticeship training and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.
- Work closely with supervisors and team members while demonstrating a willingness to learn and develop trade skills.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support project completion.
Requirements
- Current Texas Plumbing Apprentice License required.
- Minimum of 3 years of commercial plumbing construction experience preferred.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Strong work ethic with a desire to build a long-term career in the plumbing trade.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
- Reliable transportation to travel to various job sites as needed.
- Ability to pass pre-employment screening and maintain job site access requirements.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds or more with assistance when needed.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders for extended periods.
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
- Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and on active construction sites.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
