Responsibilities
- Install plumbing and mechanical systems according to code and project documents.
- Perform pipefitting and welding tasks as required.
- Anticipate upcoming tasks and provide material lists and tool requests to the Journeyman, Foreman, and/or Superintendent one week in advance.
- Offer suggestions for productive and efficient installation approaches and options.
- Learn, apply, and maintain piping and fittings, including assembly, cutting, threading, grooving, and brazing/soldering, to meet project goals and requirements.
- Familiarize yourself with the project layout and ensure installations are carried out as directed and in compliance with codes.
- Maintain a focus on quality assurance by inspecting and assessing craftsmanship and installed work.
- Utilize the EDGE method (Explain, Demonstrate, Guide, Enable) when teaching and mentoring other team members.
Qualifications
- Valid apprentice license in plumbing.
- Completion of 1A and 1B in apprentice plumbing training.
- Strong work ethic and a desire to learn and develop new skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Effective communication skills to follow instructions and seek clarification when needed.
