Apprentice Maintenance Mechanic - $31.69

Main Position Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electronic, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic problems.
• Diagnose and fix issues dealing with chains, belts, rollers, conveyors, palletizers, and inspection equipment.
• Repair and maintain electrical, mechanical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
• Use a wide variety of hand tools and power hand tools.
• May use welding and cutting equipment and machine tools.
• Work with oils and lubricants.
• Perform work requiring specialized experience and training related to skills trades.
• Repair, overhaul and service mechanized equipment such as hoists, elevators, conveyors, mobile equipment, hi-lifts, etc.
• Perform carpentry work in construction, repairing or modifying structures, cabinets, scaffolds, shelves, offices, jogs, fixtures, etc.
• Use brushes and spray guns in painting interiors and exteriors, equipment, etc., including preparation of surfaces and mixing paints.
• Install and maintain utility lines for gas, water, air, etc., including general plumbing work.
• Inspect, install, relocate, repair and maintain plant electrical equipment, such as motors, switch boxes, panels, instruments, starters, control devices, power circuits, feeders, etc.
• Install, move, repair and maintain mechanical and electronic selecting devices.
• Remove, install, repair and check plant mechanical devices and equipment.
• Cut, braze and weld various metals used on construction of forms, guardrails, catwalks, runways, stairs, etc.
• Work with furnace line personnel to install and adjust oil burners, etc.
• Inspect plant equipment and follow preventative maintenance program.

Employee Qualifications

Individuals must have a strong interest in pursuing an industrial maintenance career in a manufacturing environment. They should have the ability to troubleshoot and repair electronic, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic problems. Applicants should also have the ability to diagnose and fix issues dealing with chains, belts, rollers, conveyors, palletizers, and inspection equipment. A background in skills trades and specialized experience is preferred.
