Apprentice HVAC Commercial Technician

About the role

This opportunity is located at the Newport News, VA branch. The Apprentice HVAC Commercial Technician will assist with installing commercial and industrial heating and cooling equipment (rooftops, furnaces, central air conditioners, commercial refrigeration equipment).

Responsibilities

• Work with others on a team to learn and maintain HVAC systems (Hydronic, Steam, Forced Hot Air, and Heat Pumps).
• Read schematics, diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC equipment, and perform preventive maintenance on equipment while maintaining a high standard of mechanical installation practices.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience in a commercial/industrial/residential environment or equivalent combination of vocational training and experience.
• Ability to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to pass a post-offer pre-employment drug screen and may be required to satisfactorily complete additional background checks (i.e., DMV, criminal history).
• Must adhere to all company policies and procedures.
