Apprentice Climber 1

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic utility apprentice climber to join our passionate team of utility line clearance professionals. Your office will be outdoors, offering a new view every day!

Responsibilities

• Learn and perform tree climbing using both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS systems.
• Conduct all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers.
• Prune treetops, repair damaged trees by trimming or removal, and remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects.
• Identify trees and prune according to industry guidelines.
• Maintain, prepare, and operate tools and equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
• Work as an active crew member with ground support and foreman.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program, First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Valid driver’s license (required).
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or B with Airbrake Endorsement (preferred).
• Line clearance experience or other related tree work (preferred).
• Relevant pesticide and related licenses/certificates (preferred, if required by state law).
• ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional® (preferred).

Pay

$31.76/hr - $40.84/hr

Schedule

Full-time, with up to 25% travel expectations.
