Apprentice Cake Decorator
About the role
Our Apprentice Cake Decorator is a key player in making sure our pastries look and taste amazing. You'll assist in creating beautiful and delicious art for our guests and provide the sweets that will be the highlight of their parties. This role focuses on cake decorating duties for someone with minimal or no retail decorating experience while also providing training in all aspects of the Bakery Department, including Clerk and Baker functions.

Responsibilities
- Learn product knowledge and procedures, including product information by category, special orders, cake program, portion control, seasonal items, and mixing colors.
- Follow proper procedures to ensure the store meets out-of-stock percentage goals.
- Apply merchandising principles to generate sales and create a positive guest experience.
- Maintain safety as the top priority for Team Members, guests, and products.
- Provide exemplary customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and making product suggestions.
- Prepare and decorate products for Bakery cases and displays, ensuring proper rotation and code dating for freshness.
- Accurately record special orders to ensure customer satisfaction with the finished product.
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment, work areas, and department, including back rooms, coolers, and freezers, to meet safety and sanitation regulations.
- Assist in unloading deliveries to maintain Bakery backroom, cooler, and freezer efficiency.
- Follow department procedures for daily setups, order taking, copyright policies, and product rotation.
- Actively demonstrate suggestive selling techniques and provide sampling opportunities when appropriate.
- Assist in other areas as required.
Requirements
- 0 to 6 months of experience.
- No high school diploma required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.

Pay
The hiring range for this position is $17.00 per hour.
