The Applied Scientist in AWS Science of Security will solve large or significantly complex problems that require deep domain knowledge and scientific innovation. You will own the design, implementation, and delivery of solutions with long-term quantifiable impact, provide cross-organizational technical influence, and develop fundamentally new solutions for business problems.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- PhD or equivalent research experience
- Experience in any of the following areas: SAT, SMT, mechanical theorem proving, symbolic simulation, programming language type systems, program analysis
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in professional software development
- Experience programming in O'Caml, Dafny, Haskell, Kotlin, Lean, Rust, Scala, or related languages

Pay
Base salary ranges by location:
- New York, NY: $172,400 - $223,400 USD annually
- Arlington, VA: $142,800 - $193,200 USD annually
- Seattle, WA: $142,800 - $193,200 USD annually
Compensation package includes sign-on payments, restricted stock units (RSUs), and comprehensive benefits such as health insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave. Final compensation is determined by experience, qualifications, and location.
