About the role

The Amazon Music Search Science team is seeking an experienced Applied Scientist to join a team of experts in the field of machine learning. The team works on various machine learning problems such as music classification, recommender systems, dialogue systems, NLP, and music information retrieval. The ideal candidate will work on scalable solutions for business problems, analyze large datasets, develop AI models for predictive learning, and implement these models efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Create scalable solutions for business problems using machine learning, deep learning, LLMs, and Agentic AI techniques
  • Analyze and extract relevant information from large amounts of Amazon's data to help automate and optimize key processes
  • Design, develop, and evaluate AI models for predictive learning
  • Work closely with software engineering teams to drive model implementations and new feature creations
  • Establish scalable, efficient, automated processes for large scale data analyses, model development, model validation, and model implementation
  • Research and implement novel machine learning and statistical approaches

Requirements

  • 3+ years of building models for business application experience
  • PhD, or Master's degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience
  • Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
  • Experience building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business application
  • Experience in any of the following areas: algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, high-performance computing

Qualifications

  • Experience using Unix/Linux
  • Experience in professional software development
  • Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
