Applied Scientist, Alexa for Shopping (Rufus) Experience Science

Description

The Amazon Alexa for Shopping (Rufus) Experience Science team is seeking a highly motivated Scientist to develop Agentic Language Models for unlocking new shopping experiences. This role involves executing the science vision and roadmap, delivering and maintaining software and models in the production environment, collaborating cross-functionally, and working with a multidisciplinary team.

Key job responsibilities

• Execute the science vision and roadmap.
• Develop data-driven solutions for real-world, large-scale problems in Alexa for Shopping.
• Deliver and maintain software and models in the production environment.
• Collaborate cross-functionally between product, design, and engineering.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of building models for business applications.
• PhD or Master's degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience.
• Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals.
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.
• Experience in algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, high-performance computing.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience using Unix/Linux.
• Experience in professional software development.
• Knowledge of architectural concepts and algorithms, schedule tradeoffs, and new opportunities with technical team members.
