Applicator/Seed Treatment Operator

Essential Functions

• Aid Plant Manager/Seed Advisor in daily operations
• Operate and maintain all equipment and vehicles
• Mix, load, and apply pesticides and fertilizers at applicable rates to the appropriate fields
• Handle and deliver bulk and package chemicals
• Load/unload pallets or seed boxes with forklift
• Treat soybeans
• Clean and maintain warehouse and equipment
• Maintain application/spray records
• Organize and coordinate application timetable with customers
• Recertify spraying technician license and safety training every two years
• Build and develop long-term relationships with customers, peers, and suppliers

Work Environment

• The position will be required to work at a retail location in all types of weather.

Classification/Expected Hours of Employment

• This position is a full-time position and is exempt from minimum wage and overtime pay requirements under federal and all applicable state or local laws.
• Days and hours of work are based on the needs of customers and seasonal work.

Required Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or Associate’s degree (2 yrs) preferred and/or minimum 2 - 5 years of job experience required.
• CDL & Hazmat certification or willingness to complete within 60 days of employment
• Intermediate computer and software skills required.
• Valid Driver’s License is required.
• Must be able to lift 50-75 lbs.
• Must be able to obtain Illinois Department of Agriculture Applicator and Seed Treatment certifications.
