About the role
The position is a 100% Limited appointment for 1 year. This appointment may be extended or converted to career status based on the needs of the department.
Responsibilities
- Applies professional programming concepts for small to medium-sized projects or portions of larger projects.
- Solves a variety of programming design and implementation issues.
- Works on programming assignments of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
- Main project involves front end and API work for an AI project; other projects aim to automate and streamline administrative processes across the school, requiring a blend of technical execution and functional problem-solving.

- Knowledge of secure software development.
- Intermediate skills associated with the design, development, modification and deployment of software, including object-oriented programming concepts.
- Knowledge of other IT related areas.
- Demonstrated software repository skills.
- Experience with common programming tools.
- Demonstrated ability to follow software specifications.
- Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
- Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team.
- Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated experience with HTML, CSS, Javascript, Typescript and related technologies used in modern web based front end development.
- Willingness and demonstrated ability to embrace and consistently uphold the principles of community for a collaborative work environment.
- Knowledge relating to the design development, modification and implementation of software including object-oriented programming concepts.
- Demonstrated experience with version control.
