Applications Engineering Consultant - Emulation
Job Summary
Siemens EDA is seeking an Applications Engineering Consultant to drive business for Siemens using hands-on technical expertise. This role involves deploying Siemens Emulation (Veloce Strato) solutions, troubleshooting, and providing feedback to improve product offerings.
About the Role
The role requires direct interaction with customers, promoting technical customer service, and building long-term customer relationships. It also involves communicating customer requirements to product marketing and developing technical relationships with peers.
Responsibilities
- Drive business for Siemens using hands-on technical expertise
- Deploy Siemens Emulation (Veloce Strato) solutions for customers
- Promote technical customer service to build and improve customer relationships
- Work closely with area sales management, account teams, and customers to understand business opportunities and requirements
- Troubleshoot and remove technical obstacles
- Develop and deliver technical presentations on new features and product updates
- Provide feedback and product ideas to our Emulation product development teams
- Communicate customers' technical requirements to product marketing
- Develop a network of technical relationships at a peer-to-peer level with our customers
Requirements
- 7+ years’ experience in design, verification, simulation, emulation/prototyping of electronics chips and systems or recent experience as an Applications Engineer in a relevant field
- BS or MS in EE, CE, CS or related areas
- Technical:
- Chip/ASIC design or verification experience - knowledge of SystemVerilog/Verilog/VHDL language, RTL, behavioral coding and general ASIC debug
- C, C++ and SystemC used in conjunction with chip design and verification highly desired
- Must have previous experience with industry emulation solutions (Veloce/Palladium/ZeBu), as well as simulation environments using Questa, Incisive, VCS, OVM or UVM
- Knowledge of Transaction Level Modeling (TLM) and methodologies would be beneficial
- Previous experience with automation/scripting (Python, Perl, sed, awk, tcl/tk, sh)
- Strong understanding of customer design flows and the ability to map Siemens EDA solutions to optimize those workflows
- Proficiency with EDA tools, methodologies, and design environments
- Experience extending or integrating tools through scripting, APIs, or environment configuration
- Able to articulate and position cross-platform and cross-portfolio solutions to address customer challenges
- Knowledge of competitive EDA environments and the ability to differentiate solutions based on technical value
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at multiple levels
- Proven ability to build customer relationships and collaborate cross-functionally to drive successful evaluations and deployments
- Able to deliver training and demos to customers
- Willing to travel to drive business engagements as required across North America (10%)
Qualifications
- Experience & Education
- Experience in design, verification, simulation, emulation/prototyping of electronics chips and systems or recent experience as an Applications Engineer in a relevant field
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field

Pay
The pay range for this position is $146,700 - $293,400 annually with a target incentive of 20% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
