Applications Engineer II

Description of Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Installation/Training - 90%
• Develops and optimizes grinding processes for specific customer applications
• Assists with the setup and demonstration of machines for customer demonstration purposes
• Provides limited scope operator training and direction to install new or modified CNC operated precision grinding machines
• Ensures full functionality according to specifications
• Provides documentation and prepares proposals and presentations for machine sales purposes
• Documentation/Proposals - 10%

Minimum Qualifications

• 3-5 years experience in CNC machine technology including installations, programming and training
• Ability to communicate thoroughly and effectively with customers, distributor sales staff, and colleagues utilizing the English language
• Ability to calculate proportions and percentages as well as apply the concepts of basic algebra
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization or supervision may exist
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• Intermediate level skills in software associated with word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and other related business programs, as required
• Mechanical skills required to operate standard shop equipment and gauging as well as extensive skills to demonstrate grinding machines and ancillary support equipment to demonstrate the capabilities of assigned products for customers, dealers, or staff

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of implementing and documenting Time Studies
• Public speaking and/or product presentation experience
• CNC Grinding Experience

Other

• Up to 70% travel required
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
