What Will You Do?
- Support trials and programming improvements through software and applications modifications.
- Complete software activities offsite using a standard project management method (scope, estimate engineering hours, reviews, regular project updates with hours report).
- Lead and support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, transitioning customer products from initial concept to production-ready processes.
- Collaborate with customers and internal teams to achieve technical requirements and performance targets.
- Develop and optimize machine tools and processes using Laser Ablation, Laser Drilling, and Electro-Discharge Machining (EDM).
- Drive continuous machine and process improvements by implementing innovative solutions, standardizing best practices, and enhancing productivity.
- Deliver applications support for machine tool contracts and subcontract production programs.
- Provide hands-on manufacturing engineering support to production teams.
- Assist with the preparation, analysis, and interpretation of metallurgical samples.
- Develop technical documentation, reports, and work instructions to support applications development and process transfer.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or similar degree (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with 5-axis machine tool controls (experience in Laser Drilling, Cutting, Welding, Laser Ablation, or EDM preferred).
- Strong understanding of 5-axis machine tools' principles, operation, and kinematics.
- Ability to interpret, manipulate, and apply complex 3D geometry.
- Proven experience developing machining applications for complex components, preferably within aerospace or industrial gas turbine environments.
- Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Human-Machine Interface (HMI) software.
