Responsibilities
- Evaluate customer applications and recommend technically appropriate equipment solutions.
- Prepare accurate equipment selections, cost estimates, and quotation packages.
- Review customer specifications, drawings, and process requirements to determine application feasibility.
- Collaborate with Engineering regarding custom designs, non-standard applications, and technical questions.
- Coincide with Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Customer Service to resolve technical issues throughout the order lifecycle.
- Support Regional Sales Managers through customer meetings, technical presentations, and site visits.
- Provide post-order technical support and assist with troubleshooting equipment performance.
- Maintain accurate application data, customer information, and quotation records within company ERP and CRM systems.
- Identify opportunities for product improvements, cost reductions, and standardization.
- Develop expertise in Syntron products, customer processes, and industry applications.
- Monitor competitor products, industry trends, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for growth.
- Support technical training for customers, distributors, sales personnel, and internal employees.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including 80/20 projects, standardization efforts, and process improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related technical field preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret customer requirements and translate them into engineered solutions.
- Demonstrated customer focus with the ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Working knowledge of mechanical systems and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with material handling equipment, conveying systems, or industrial equipment preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP/CRM systems (Syteline experience preferred).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting customer deadlines.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multiple departments.
