About the role

A Drilling Solutions Engineer will coordinate field testing of new products and components, gather run data, validate testing, and oversee recommendations for future iterations.

Responsibilities

  • Customer Service:
    • Maintain strong working relationships with customer accounts, including office and field teams, to ensure high-level service.
    • Deliver technology presentations and training sessions as needed.
    • Conduct customer visits, provide field site support, and travel throughout the assigned area.
    • Monitor customer issues, feedback, deadlines, and deliverables; adapt and improve internal processes to resolve issues quickly.
    • Ensure timely, complete, and accurate invoicing per NOV and local customer legal requirements.
  • Sales Support:
    • Qualify opportunities and provide customer insight into processes and timings to maximize revenue.
    • Create technical evaluations and product recommendations to enhance sales and profitability.
    • Support sales in achieving internal KPIs and metrics.
    • Review customer orders against drilling application needs; perform technical and commercial evaluations.
    • Support contract/quote review process and flag non-standard technical requirements.
  • Reporting:
    • Create Application Maps/Studies for the assigned area.
    • Maintain a product offering map, including development history.
    • Capture tool performance data for database entry and prepare customer run reports and performance summaries.
    • Develop case histories and outstanding run reports for internal and external use.
    • Create dull forensics reports and incident reports per the QMS system.
  • Product Development:
    • Lead technical justification for new product designs according to development standards.
    • Support sales in developing technical responses and identifying new products for the area.
    • Provide support for the product life cycle of assigned projects.
  • Quality System:
    • Participate in the ReedHycalog Quality Management System; lead and support quality incidents in the assigned area.
    • Provide feedback on product performance trends for reliability and quality improvement.

Requirements

  • 4-year Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years of oilfield experience.
