Applications Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support the integration of renewable and HVAC systems into customer mechanical infrastructure and building systems
• Cook up system applications involving pumps, valves, sensors, controls packages, flow requirements, and mechanical integration
• Collaborate with engineering, sales, operations, and R&D teams throughout project development and execution
• Aid in technical proposals, submittals, presentations, and customer-facing documentation
• Translate highly technical engineering and R&D information into practical customer-facing materials, specifications, and internal communication tools
• Create technical documentation, including schematics, installation guides, operational documentation, and training materials
• Support field activities including startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
• Support performance calculations, system analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives across HVAC applications

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline
• 3–10+ years of experience in HVAC systems, mechanical systems engineering, renewable energy systems, applications engineering, controls integration, or related technical environments
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical building systems
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or related CAD platforms
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience supporting customer proposals, technical sales support, or working in applications engineering functions is preferred
