Applications Engineer

Herrmann Ultrasonics is hiring for an Applications Engineer in the PLASTICS division. Immerse yourself into the fascinating world of ultrasonic welding! We develop and build machines that join plastics, packaging materials, nonwovens, and metals with ultrasonic vibrations, serving industries such as medical, electronics, food, and automotive. With nearly 700 global employees across 4 headquarters and 22 tech centers, we are represented in 20 countries worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Planning and documentation of our Ultrasonic Welding Application development projects
• Providing technical expertise to our customers
• Assisting with technical trainings and customer seminars
• Executing Factory Acceptance Testing, Site Acceptance Testing, and customer personnel training
• Providing technical support to our customers including phone/email support, on-site, and in-house customer visits
• Assuming emergency and stand-by services including provision of shipping and/or delivery of spare parts

Requirements

• Strong foundation in mechanical and structural engineering
• Minimum education: Bachelor's degree preferred; however, Associates would be considered with the right experience
• Strong mechanical aptitude skills
• 3D CAD experience preferred
• Creative problem-solving mindset
• Minimum one year of relevant engineering experience preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and motivated to build long-term relationships with customers and colleagues
• Knowledge of the manufacturing and automation machine industry
