Applications Engineer
About the role
The Applications Engineer plays a crucial role in generating new equipment proposals that align with customer specifications. This position requires a strong background in chemical or mechanical engineering, with a minimum of three years' experience designing heavy industrial equipment. The ideal candidate should also have experience in process engineering and cost-estimating.
Responsibilities
- Review customer RFQs and specifications to identify appropriate product offerings
- Prepare budgets and technical proposals for ANDRITZ's pneumatic conveying and air pollution control products
- Perform process engineering and equipment sizing calculations to ensure proper equipment specification
- Generate bills of material, estimates, technical datasheets, P&IDs, and project schedules for proposals
- Work with vendors and suppliers to obtain cost estimates for planned equipment
- Provide technical correspondence with clients to clarify RFQ packages
- Create general arrangement drawings with the Applications Designer
- Develop accurate, comprehensive proposals that meet all project requirements
- Travel to customer sites to offer technical support during pre-bid meetings and proposal presentations
- Assist with other duties as assigned
Requirements
Essential qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering and at least three years of experience in the design of heavy industrial equipment. Prior experience in process engineering and cost-estimating is highly valued. Global project experience and proficiency in digital engineering tools such as ACC and CAD are considered valuable assets.
