About the role
We are looking for an Application Support Engineer to provide dependable technical support for business applications and end-user systems in Houston, Texas. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who combines strong troubleshooting ability with hands-on experience across hardware, directory services, and network-connected environments.
Responsibilities
- Investigate and resolve application incidents by diagnosing software, hardware, and access-related issues in a timely manner.
- Support user account administration and permissions management within Active Directory to ensure secure and reliable system access.
- Provide hands-on assistance with Dell Technologies hardware, including setup, troubleshooting, and coordination of repairs or replacements when needed.
- Monitor application behavior and system performance to identify recurring problems and recommend practical improvements.
- Partner with internal technical teams to address connectivity, infrastructure, and Cisco-based environment issues that affect application availability.
- Document support activities, root causes, and resolution steps to improve knowledge sharing and service consistency.
- Assist with software deployments, updates, and configuration changes while minimizing disruption to daily operations.
- Communicate clearly with users and stakeholders regarding issue status, expected timelines, and recommended next steps.
Requirements
- Experience supporting enterprise applications in a technical support or application support engineering role.
- Working knowledge of Active Directory, including user provisioning, access management, and basic troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Dell Technologies hardware and general computer hardware diagnostics.
- Exposure to Cisco Technologies and an understanding of how network connectivity can impact application performance.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple support requests effectively.
- Ability to document technical issues clearly and communicate solutions to both technical and non-technical users.
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating with cross-functional IT teams in a service-oriented environment.
