Contract position with a client in Boston, MA.
About the role
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Python development, SQL, AWS cloud technologies, and application support, along with knowledge of Equities and Fixed Income asset classes.
Responsibilities
- Provide production support for multiple fund applications, ensuring system stability, performance, and availability.
- Support migration of jobs, applications, and infrastructure to modern platforms utilizing Python, AWS, and APSS technologies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application, database, and infrastructure issues across distributed environments.
- Lead production incident triage, root cause analysis, problem resolution, and post-incident reviews.
- Develop and maintain automation solutions using Python to improve operational efficiency and support processes.
- Monitor application health and performance using tools such as Splunk, Kibana, and enterprise monitoring platforms.
- Participate in after-hours support, weekend coverage, and on-call rotations as required.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in application support and software development.
- Strong expertise in:
- Python Development
- Structured Query Language (SQL)
- Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Experience supporting distributed platforms including:
- Windows
- Linux
- SQL-based environments
- Strong understanding of production support methodologies and incident management processes.
- Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as Splunk and Kibana.
- Knowledge of ITIL principles and SDLC methodologies.
- Experience supporting enterprise financial applications.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- This position requires the use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access to controlled technologies to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including some refugees and asylees, or to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.

- Investment Management Workflows
- Experience supporting front-office and back-office financial systems.
- Familiarity with cloud modernization, automation, and infrastructure migration initiatives.
- Experience working within global support models and coordinating with offshore teams.
Pay
$48.00 to $50.00 per hour. The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
