This opportunity is with a major global manufacturer of materials science and technology products, at one of the company's manufacturing plants in Canton, NY. This role sits within the plant's IT organization, supporting the applications that keep manufacturing operations running, including ERP and MES systems built on Oracle and SQL. You'll work closely with plant operations, engineering, and IT leadership to ensure production-critical applications remain reliable and continuously improve.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day support for plant manufacturing and business applications
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve application incidents and production-impacting issues
- Work directly with operators, engineers, and plant leadership to restore service quickly
- Develop new functionality and modify existing software applications
- Read, analyze, and troubleshoot code, primarily in C# and Python
- Create, test, debug, document, and implement application changes and minor enhancements
- Write and analyze SQL queries to investigate issues and validate data
- Maintain and support data accuracy and integrity within Oracle-based environments
- Create and maintain technical documentation, support procedures, and troubleshooting guides
- Coordinate with IT, engineering, and operations teams to resolve incidents and support projects
Requirements
- Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
- Experience supporting business and/or manufacturing applications
- Hands-on experience with relational databases, specifically Oracle
- Ability to write and interpret SQL for troubleshooting and data validation
- Ability to read and understand code, primarily C# and Python
- US citizenship (required for ITAR compliance)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting MES platforms, especially Camstar or similar manufacturing systems
- Experience in a manufacturing or plant environment
- Experience with SQL Server
- Familiarity with SharePoint, XML, and Visual Studio
- Experience with software QA, testing, and change deployment processes
- Experience with application administration or account management for systems such as Teamcenter
- Understanding of production workflows, routing, WIP tracking, and manufacturing operations
Pay
The pay rate for this position is $60.32/hr. Final pay is based on experience, qualifications, and location.
Schedule
- Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm
- On-call rotation (5 weeks)
