Application Senior Engineer

About the role

Responsible for the development and validation of Steering Wheel and Driver Airbag products pre and post-SoP. Lead, execute, and support various project activities during technical phases of awarded programs. This includes collaboration with all Cross Functional Team (CFT) members (divisional and global), interface with OEMs, internal supporting groups, manufacturing facilities, and suppliers.

• Work with the customer to negotiate styling vs. Autoliv standard design/processes.
• Work with global team members to locally validate and launch global programs.
• Balance between easy to manufacture and meeting customer needs.
• Understand customer specifications and ensure product is designed/validated accordingly.
• Drive the design to meet 1P1P expectations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Technical leadership
• Verbal and written communication
• Design / CAD
• Perform Tolerance Stack
• Apply GD&T on Drawings
• Ability to understand manufacturing needs (e.g., Die cast, RIM, Injection Molding, Stamping, Assy)
• Interpreting CAE Results
• Problem Solving Skills
