Application Security Specialist

Job Description and Duties

The incumbent reviews application/system architecture, configuration, and changes to ensure compliance with information security policies and procedures. Efforts contribute to safeguarding taxpayer and employee information.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Experience: At least 2 years of experience in application security or IT security.
• Skills: Proficiency in web servers, web applications, and multi-tier application design; experience with application vulnerability scanners and penetration tools; ability to communicate security concepts to technical and non-technical staff.

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience: Leading large enterprise projects, preparing reports to management, performing information systems assessments, recommending strategies for re-engineering information systems, developing N-Tier applications, and secure coding and development best practices.

Working Conditions

This position requires 4 or more days in the office per week. Eligible for some remote work based on departmental guidelines and operational need.
