Application Security Engineer II

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Application Security Engineer II to join the team of a leader in the Consumer Technology space. This role will focus on strengthening application security practices across software and product initiatives in a fast-moving consumer technology environment. You will work closely with engineering and product partners to identify risk, recommend practical safeguards, and help build secure-by-default systems. The position also includes hands-on code support, documentation, and participation in incident response and post-incident reviews to improve overall resilience.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver application security work within defined projects
• Identify, prioritize, and help remediate application security risks with engineering teams
• Apply secure-by-default patterns when designing or reviewing systems
• Partner with product and engineering teams to assess risk and recommend security improvements
• Write code and documentation to address vulnerabilities
• Participate in security incident response and contribute to post-incident analysis

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in software engineering and/or application security
• Practical experience with application security techniques such as threat modeling and secure design patterns
• Strong understanding of secure coding practices and common application security risks, including OWASP Top 10
• Ability to assess security risks and deliver practical solutions
• Clear communication skills to explain security issues to engineers of varying expertise
• A growth mindset with a desire to learn from senior engineers

Pay

$118,200 – $152,900 annually
