Application Security Engineer

Role: Application Security Engineer with expertise in securing diverse applications, collaborating with development, DevSecOps, and security teams to integrate security into the software lifecycle. Responsibilities: Design and improve application security testing pipelines, assess application risks, conduct security reviews across multiple languages, perform penetration testing, and mentor development teams on security best practices. Qualifications & Skills: 5+ years in application security, experience with manual and automated code reviews, penetration testing, and risk analysis. Proficient in Python, Typescript, Java, PowerShell, and GitHub workflows. Hands-on Kubernetes security knowledge, familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and understanding of web security standards (OAuth, OIDC, REST). Ability to analyze code for vulnerabilities, learn new tools, and work in a DevSecOps environment. Bachelor’s degree required; US citizenship and ability to maintain security clearance. Preferred: Skills in C#, Bash, JavaScript, SQL, Java; familiarity with AI-assisted coding; understanding of network protocols and encryption schemes.
