Application Security Engineer

About the role

Application Security Engineer with expertise in securing diverse applications, collaborating with development, DevSecOps, and security teams to integrate security into the software lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design and improve application security testing pipelines
• Assess application risks
• Conduct security reviews across multiple languages
• Perform penetration testing
• Mentor development teams on security best practices

Qualifications & Skills

• 5+ years in application security
• Experience with manual and automated code reviews, penetration testing, and risk analysis
• Proficient in Python, Typescript, Java, PowerShell, and GitHub workflows
• Hands-on Kubernetes security knowledge
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
• Understanding of web security standards (OAuth, OIDC, REST)
• Ability to analyze code for vulnerabilities, learn new tools, and work in a DevSecOps environment
• Bachelor's degree required
• US citizenship and ability to maintain security clearance

Preferred

• Skills in C#, Bash, JavaScript, SQL, Java
• Familiarity with AI-assisted coding
• Understanding of network protocols and encryption schemes
