About the role
Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division is seeking Application Engineer Interns for Summer 2027. The position is on‑site in Milwaukee, WI. This internship is designed for students pursuing a degree in engineering who expect to graduate in December 2027 or May/June 2028. Successful interns will gain hands‑on experience in technical customer support, software applications, and product demonstrations, with the opportunity to transition into a full‑time Application Engineer role after graduation. Work Environment: On‑site role with primary work at one of the following offices: North Kingstown, RI; Charlotte, NC; Detroit, MI; Dallas, TX; Irvine, CA; Miamisburg, OH; Wilmington, DE; Milwaukee, WI. Primarily office‑based with opportunities to visit customers or demo sites. Regular use of computer equipment; occasional movement around labs or factory floor. May involve light lifting (up to 15 lbs) of equipment or demonstration tools. Team‑oriented environment with collaborative problem‑solving and technical engagement.
Responsibilities
- Support demonstrations of Hexagon’s measurement and manufacturing software to prospective customers.
- Assist with technical evaluations, product testing, and configuration of applications.
- Troubleshoot customer issues under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Contribute to preparing training materials, documentation, and technical presentations.
- Shadow engineers in customer engagements to learn how solutions are tailored to industry needs.
- Participate in cross‑functional projects bridging R&D, product management, and customer support.
- Learn industry best practices in CAD/CAM, simulation, and data analysis.
