Application Engineer
Responsibilities
- Partner with sales teams and customers to identify application needs and recommend solutions.
- Create custom workholding and mechanical solutions using engineering principles and CAD software (SolidWorks).
- Create concept drawings, engineering calculations, and technical documentation.
- Prepare quotations, proposals, cost estimates, delivery schedules, and ERP bids.
- Present technical solutions and provide product expertise to customers.
- Evaluate risks associated with custom tooling and ensure solutions are safe and commercially viable.
- Maintain and update CAD files, engineering records, and technical data.
- Support customers by reviewing applications and recommending improvements.
- Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and product developments.
- Communicate with internal teams to resolve technical and commercial issues.
- Participate in quality, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives, including CAPA activities.
- Use measuring tools and gauges to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Manage priorities effectively to meet project deadlines and business objectives.
- Follow company policies, procedures, and administrative requirements.

About the Role
The Applications Engineer develops custom workholding and mechanical solutions by combining engineering, CAD design, and cost estimating expertise. This customer-facing role works with sales teams and customers to evaluate requirements, create solution concepts, prepare quotations, estimate costs and delivery timelines, and deliver technically sound, profitable solutions while managing project risks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Roselle, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $36.05/hr.
