Application Engineer 4 (Cloud)

About the role

The Application Engineer 4 (Cloud) position at Themis Insight is dedicated to developing detailed guidance for cloud workloads that ensure compliance with Government security and regulatory requirements. They collaborate with cloud-focused teams across various organizations to design, test, and implement cloud workload security configurations and solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed guidance for cloud workloads ensuring compliance with Government security and regulatory requirements such as NIST SP 800-53 security controls.
• Collaborate with cloud-focused teams across various organizations to design, test, and implement cloud workload security configurations and solutions.
• Facilitate the creation of procedures and cybersecurity guidance for migrations from legacy cloud environments or hardware environments into AWS.
• Evaluate and research cloud services and make recommendations for security configurations of those services to ensure data is appropriately protected.
• Evaluate and research cloud security technologies and make recommendations for their use.

Requirements

• TS/SCI with a Polygraph

Qualifications

• Twelve (12) years minimum experience and a High School Diploma/GED.
• Ten (10) years minimum experience and an Associate's Degree.
• Eight (8) years minimum experience and a Bachelor's Degree.
• Six (6) years minimum experience and a Master's Degree.
• Four (4) years minimum experience and a Doctorate's Degree.

Skills

• Customer facing skills to drive discussions with senior personnel regarding trade-offs, best practices, project management and risk mitigation.
• Experience with cloud computing and virtualization platforms.
• Ability to quickly learn and shift in step with the latest cloud-computing, networking, and infrastructure management technologies.
• Excellent communication, writing, problem solving, and architectural whiteboarding skills.
• Strong knowledge of application system and network architectures and associated security principles including protection of data at rest, in transit, and in process.
• Knowledge of security and compliance requirements for cloud-based solutions.

Pay

Salary range: $120,000 - $150,000 annually.
