Application Development Co-Op

About the role

Are you ready to apply your classroom knowledge to real-world application development while earning college credits? The Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines is seeking a motivated student for a Co-Op position within our Information Technology department.

Responsibilities

• Support, maintain, and enhance systems used across the Bank.
• Assist with application analysis, development, and testing activities.
• Provide technical support to IT staff and end users as needed.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of internally developed applications.
• Work with vendor-supported platforms to ensure optimal system performance and functionality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application and system-related issues.
• Gain exposure to financial systems and banking technology processes.
• Collaborate with team members on technology initiatives and projects.

Requirements

• Working toward a Bachelor’s degree in engineering/computer science or graduate student in a master’s of engineering/computer science program.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Detail oriented.
• Knowledge of agile/waterfall development practices.
• Java stack development knowledge.
• MS SQL Server knowledge, including SQL Server Reporting Services and/or SQL Server Integration Services.
• Interest in or understanding of financial institutions and financial instruments.
• Current students and candidates with a strong interest in application development and who are able to work full-time hours.

Pay

Hourly: $22.00
