About the role
SMBC is leading a Digital Transformation across its Americas Division to modernize technology, adopt a data-driven approach, and plan for future growth. The team is seeking experienced software Data Engineers across Charlotte (NC), Jersey City (NJ), and India with 10+ years of relevant experience to support the design and development of a strategic data platform for SMBC Capital Markets and Nikko Securities Group.
These roles sit within the Data Strategy team spanning SMBC Capital Markets, Nikko Securities teams, and SMBC Americas Division's broker-dealer and swap-dealer entities. The work involves active development of data services UI in close coordination with the SMBC team, beginning with a reference data system for securities and pricing data and expanding to other data domains. The consulting team follows internal development standards to contribute to the Data Strategy agenda. Implementation runs on SMBC's Azure Cloud Platform.
Responsibilities
- Create user-friendly interfaces for web and mobile applications
- Design front-end layouts, enhance UX, and implement visual and interactive elements
- Develop application features, fix bugs, and collaborate with other developers and stakeholders
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience as a Specialist UI/UX Developer with React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and related frameworks
- Integration experience with RESTful APIs and API endpoints
- Strong knowledge of JSON, XML, and SQL
- Sound teamwork, collaboration, and communication skills
