Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for system enhancements and optimizations.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Create, analyze, review, and modify programs for data processing and applications using JHA Symitar PowerOn programming language.
- Collaborates with third-party vendors to ensure the seamless implementation, maintenance, and support of software and hardware that integrates with Symitar and other applications.
- Utilizes sound software development life cycle (SDLC) practices and accurately follows established procedures for delivering application solutions that support critical business strategies.
- Performs code reviews and ensures compliance with coding standards and best practices.
- Troubleshoots issues and resolves incidents in support of existing production applications and initiates action to correct quality problems or notifies others of issues as appropriate.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or other related field or equivalent work experience.
- Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages supporting enterprise financial institution platforms.
- Two (2) years of experience in a financial institution developing and supporting business applications environments.
- Demonstrated knowledge of architecture / systems engineering best practices, systems process design, software design, programming principles, or equivalent processes.
- Fundamental understanding of and experience with at least one of the following areas: Retail Operations, Lending Operations, Financial Backoffice Operations.
Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience
- Four (4) years' experience with financial institution technologies: FIS, Fiserv, FIS – Corelation KeyStone, Finastra, Jack Henry (Symitar, Synapsys, Synergy, SymXchange, ARCU), Alkami, COTS, Image Center, OpCon, etc.
- Technical hands-on experience with Jack Henry Symitar proprietary programming (PowerOn/RepGen), SQL development for relational databases, HTML, and Java Script.
- Ability to program in at least one programming language, such as C#, Java, PHP, COBOL, or RPG, HTML, JavaScript etc.
- Familiarity with the Unix operating system, Unix shell scripting, Python, or similar.
- Command of one or more scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash).
- Project management experience in an iterative project management methodology. Ie. Agile, Scum, Kanban.
- Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification, or previous work within an ITIL environment.

Pay
The person hired into this position will likely earn between $77,618.50 and $97,023.13, plus annual bonus. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted hiring range based on factors such as relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, licensure requirements and/or skill level.
