Application Architect: III (Senior) / Solutions Architect
About the role
The Application Architect: III (Senior) / Solutions Architect role is responsible for defining and governing end-to-end technology solutions that support strategic business initiatives. This role translates business needs into secure, scalable, and maintainable solution designs aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
Responsibilities
- Define solution approaches and high-level architecture designs aligned to enterprise standards.
- Translate business requirements into end-to-end technical solutions across applications, platforms, and data flows.
- Ensure solutions meet non-functional requirements including scalability, resiliency, performance, and security.
- Present and defend solution designs through architecture review and approval forums.
- Ensure adherence to enterprise architecture standards, patterns, and governance processes.
- Partner with product owners and engineering teams to guide architecture decisions throughout delivery.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and patterns for applicability to enterprise solutions.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience across multiple IT disciplines is required, including experience in at least two of the following: solution or application architecture, application development, middleware or integration technologies, database management, or infrastructure technologies.
- Experience working in complex enterprise environments is also necessary.
- A working knowledge of Wires application is required.
- Experience supporting financial services or regulated environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with enterprise integration patterns such as APIs, event-driven, batch, and messaging is preferred.
- Experience collaborating across business, product, and engineering teams is preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain architectural decisions to technical and non-technical audiences is preferred.
Qualifications
