Application Architect

About the role

Seeking a hands-on IT Application Architect to design and deliver scalable, secure solutions across enterprise systems. This role works closely with engineering, cloud, and security teams to turn business requirements into practical, buildable architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end solutions across cloud, on-prem, and hybrid environments
• Translate business needs into scalable, secure architecture designs (HLD/LLD)
• Define API-first and event-driven integration patterns
• Ensure alignment with enterprise standards, Azure, and security frameworks (NIST/CMMC/SOC2)
• Participate in ARB reviews and drive architecture governance
• Support engineering teams through implementation and resolve design challenges
• Embed security, compliance, and operational readiness into all solutions
• Promote DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code best practices

Qualifications

• 7–10 years in IT with solution architecture or hands-on design experience
• Strong experience with Azure (preferred) or AWS/GCP
• Background in APIs, integrations, and modern architectures
• Familiarity with architecture governance (ARB) and enterprise environments
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Nice to Have

• Azure certifications
• Experience with Terraform/Bicep or IaC
• Exposure to CMMC, NIST, SOC2 or regulated environments
• Experience with tools like LeanIX or Ardoq
