Application and Infrastructure Security Specialist - Assistant Vice President
About the role
The Application and Infrastructure Security Team is seeking an Assistant Vice President to enhance our risk identification and remediation efforts. The successful candidate will employ application telemetry and security tools to programmatically identify risks critical to the WM business. This position demands a high level of expertise in data analysis and automation, as well as familiarity with Artificial Intelligence techniques. Candidates should possess a strong understanding of common application architecture and software development practices. A commitment to ongoing research and a willingness to learn on the job are essential for this role.
Responsibilities
- Conduct complex data analysis and develop automated solutions to enhance risk management processes
- Leverage Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI capabilities to improve risk identification and drive risk reduction
- Prototype Generative AI solutions that deliver cost savings and improve control effectiveness
- Perform risk assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and develop mitigation plans to protect the organization's technology assets
- Ensure the consistent application of data security, information management, and privacy controls across acquired businesses and their technology environments
- Develop and maintain metrics to monitor project execution and measure risk, providing trend analysis and insights to leadership
- Strengthen controls across high-priority Wealth Management applications and infrastructure
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor's degree in a related technical field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related discipline
- Experience automating tasks using scripting languages (e.g. Python, Bash) and data analysis tools (e.g. Dataiku, SQL)
- Ability to partner effectively with cross-functional stakeholders and drive initiatives to completion in a large, matrixed organization
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities across concurrent projects
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data manipulation and analysis (i.e., capable of turning raw data into actionable insights)
- Prototype and scale Generative AI use cases that deliver cost savings, improve operational efficiency, and support risk reduction
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with risk management practices at a large financial institution
- Knowledge of the financial services industry; preferably in wealth management, finance, operations, or technology
Pay
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $85,000 and $140,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
