Appian Test Engineering Lead

About the role

Groundswell is a premier technology integrator and solution provider dedicated to addressing complex challenges faced by federal agencies. This role is crucial for supporting the development of web-based applications, particularly in automation testing.

Responsibilities

• Play a strategic role in the quality assurance program, including test strategy, environment design, and data development
• Lead the development and execution of test plans and procedures based on requirements and technical data
• Train and mentor testing team members, ensuring they meet project and performance goals
• Interpret requirements, write quality control documentation, and design user acceptance test plans
• Manage data collection, including form and log reviews, and ensure accurate reporting of test incidents
• Communicate regularly about system changes, downtimes, and common issues, escalating problems as necessary
• Perform technical reviews to ensure adherence to quality processes

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in information technology or related field
• 5+ years of software testing experience, including 2+ years of automation testing
• Experience leading a team and mentoring junior team members
• Knowledge of test management, automation tools, and performance testing processes
• Proficiency with test automation and management tools like Playwright and Selenium
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a remote or hybrid team setting
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance (preference for those with active clearance)

Qualifications

• Desired: Working knowledge of the software development life cycle, especially Agile; experience with low-code platforms (Appian, Outsystems, Pega, Salesforce); experience with User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• Desired: Appian Analyst Certification
