Appian Architect - Civilian

Key Responsibilities

• Guide clients on architecture design, integration, scalability, configuration management, DevSecOps, and other program initiatives
• Work with client enterprise architecture teams to design and deliver solutions that fit their unique needs and ecosystems
• Lead implementation teams through complex technical solutions with Appian and tangential technologies
• Ensure solutions are built for scale and performance
• Integrate multi-tier architecture through integrations and system configuration
• Evaluate emerging or incumbent technologies for value and fit in client or back-office implementations
• Create and document implementation best practices as well as knowledge base articles for internal enablement
• Provide thought leadership on process improvement
• Mentorship, training, and enablement of resources

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience with Appian solutions
• 6+ years of related IT experience
• Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Systems Engineering, or related area
• Active Appian Lead Certification
• Strong experience with Agile delivery
• Strong technical implementation skills
• Strong database design and development skills
• Experience evaluating and resolving issues found during system security testing
• Experience with Appian Cloud configuration and support processes
• Experience implementing Cloud, On-Premises, and Hybrid platform deployments
• Experience in network infrastructure concepts and troubleshooting techniques
• Strong communication skills and ability to convey complex concepts in an easy-to-understand manner
• Organizational skills, attention to details, ability to work in a high-paced environment, multi-task (prioritize and manage)
• Willingness to travel 0-15% to client meetings in Washington, DC area and Dallas, TX

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in RDBMS (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL)
• Experience with Authentication (e.g., SAML, Kerberos, OAuth, LDAP)
• Experience with Web services, Integrations and Middleware (e.g., RESTful/SOAP, Mule/IIB/Fusion)
• Experience with Cloud Computing/IaaS (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Experience with Source Control (e.g., Git, SVN, CVS)
• Experience with Software troubleshooting and performance tuning
