Appellate Attorney

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth legal research on complex legal issues.
  • Draft appellate briefs, legal memoranda, motions, and other persuasive legal documents.
  • Analyze statutes, regulations, case law, and legal precedents to support litigation strategy.
  • Aid attorneys with appellate matters and provide legal research support for ongoing cases.
  • Review trial records and identify appellate issues.
  • Collaborate with attorneys to develop legal arguments and case strategies.
  • Ensure all filings comply with applicable court rules and deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Nebraska, or eligibility to practice in Nebraska.
  • Minimum of 5 years of legal experience.
  • Prior experience as a state or federal appellate judicial clerk is strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Must be located in Nebraska and able to commute to the Omaha office as required.
