Apparel Designer

Bring your design talent to a fast-paced apparel team working on cut and sew knits and sweaters for sleep and lounge, with an added focus on speed. This on-site New York opportunity is a 6-month contract role.

Responsibilities

• Develop original design concepts inspired by fashion trends, color direction, and fabric innovation
• Create sketches and contribute to seasonal design presentations
• Analyze market and fashion trends to support new product ideas
• Partner with sourcing and materials development teams throughout the design process
• Provide basic fit and body block guidance as needed
• Participate in fit sessions and help refine designs based on feedback
• Work collaboratively with design leadership and cross-functional partners

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Design or equivalent experience
• Relevant design experience in apparel
• Experience with cut and sew knits and/or sweaters
• Strong understanding of fashion trends, style development, and fabric selection
• Ability to create clear sketches and present design ideas effectively
• Collaborative mindset and strong communication skills
• Attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-moving environment

Preferred Skills

• Women’s wear experience
• Experience designing sleep and lounge apparel
• Background in sweaters design
• Comfort working onsite and contributing to a team-based workflow
• Ability to balance creativity with practical product development needs

Pay

The pay range for this role is $23 - $55 per hour based on qualifications and experience.
