Responsibilities
- Develop strategic color direction and build thoughtful, market-relevant color palettes.
- Apply color across apparel products, bringing seasonal concepts to life.
- Create compelling color stories and visual narratives.
- Develop mood boards and presentation materials to communicate creative concepts.
- Present color concepts and confidently articulate the thinking behind your work.
- Collaborate with designers and cross-functional partners in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment.
- Stay closely connected to fashion, consumer, cultural, and marketplace trends.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in apparel color design.
- Strong expertise in color strategy, palette development, and color application.
- A portfolio showcasing color storytelling, mood boards, and a variety of apparel experiences.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in ambiguity and adapt to changing priorities.
- Bachelor’s degree in design, fashion, textiles, or a related field — or equivalent experience.
Nice to have
- Experience with outdoor, streetwear, performance, activewear, or technical apparel.
- Experience balancing fashionable aesthetics with functional/utilitarian product needs.
- Background working with a major global or Fortune 500 brand.
- Experience in entrepreneurial or startup-like environments.
- Strong understanding of fashion, color, and marketplace trends.
